Computer Reverse Projection Photogrammetry

The first step in photo analysis is to digitize the accident photos into the computer. Next, known measurements from the accident scene and objects of interest are used to construct 3D computer models. At this point the 3D computer models are carefully camera matched to select photos using computer photogrammetry. Finally, we can measure objects, distances, vehicle deformation, and skid marks.

Note: Without photogrammetry, accident photos can easily be misinterpreted due to illusions involving perspective and foreshortening.
